Terms of Service

1. The Slow Web Principle

Standard Garden is designed for calm publishing, deliberate reflection, and durable writing. We do not design for addiction, viral growth loops, or algorithmic manipulation. You use the service to plant and cultivate ideas at your own pace.

2. Content Ownership

Your words belong to you. You retain complete ownership, copyright, and intellectual property rights over every note, image, and document you create or publish on Standard Garden. We do not claim any ownership over your content.

By publishing content publicly, you grant Standard Garden a non-exclusive license solely to host, serve, format, and display that content on your behalf across the distributed edge network according to your chosen visibility settings (public, unlisted, or private).

3. Acceptable Use & Zero-Tolerance Content

To preserve a safe, welcoming garden, we enforce strict zero-tolerance rules. The following types of content are strictly prohibited:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or exploitation of minors (reported immediately to legal authorities).
• Non-consensual sexual imagery or doxxing (publishing private personal data without consent).
• Hate speech, threats of violence, incitement to self-harm, or targeted harassment.
• Malicious software, phishing schemes, or spam generation.
• Copyright infringement or automated mass scrapers.

Content found violating these terms will be composted (permanently deleted) immediately, and associated accounts or IP addresses will be blocked without refund.

4. Storage, Quotas & Note Lifespan

• Per-file upload limit: Strict maximum of 100 MB per file across all tiers.
• Anonymous notes: Free and available without registration. Anonymous notes expire and are composted after 7 days unless claimed by an account.
• Free Tier: Includes 1 GB of persistent storage for registered accounts.
• Pro Tier ($80/year): Includes 25 GB of persistent storage, custom domain support, and priority rendering.

5. Resiliency & Backups

Standard Garden is distributed across Cloudflare's edge infrastructure with encrypted storage (D1 and R2). While we maintain high availability and redundancy, we encourage gardeners to adopt the POSSE philosophy (Publish on Own Site, Syndicate Elsewhere) and maintain local copies of notes in Markdown (for example, using Obsidian).

6. Termination & Deletion

You are free to stop using Standard Garden at any time. When you compost a note or delete your account, your data is permanently removed from active databases.
